Check out the state of the art indoor hitting bay at Stoke Park. It has four cameras mounted on the walls, two 50 inch flat screen monitors, Flight scope and off course; great information! Anyone can buy the technology and work it, the secret is how the coach interprets the images and creates a fix solution for each person on a case by case basis. Golf is part art and part science, my coaches know that and teach in various ways.

Nick Torrance wins JYGA trophy!

Congratulations to Nick Torrance on winning the JYGA trophy at The Concession Golf Club. Nick was four under par after twelve holes on this ultra difficult course, from the back tee’s. Finishing on one under for the round! Great playing. Mason Fox was second with a great round of even par, with a bogey down the last! Well done to all that played!

Yale Kim wins U.S. Kids Tour Chmapionship

Yale Kim won the U.S. Kids Golf Orlando Tour Championship at the Black Bear Golf Course this weekend. Great Job Yale!

Welcome Louisa and Libby!

Welcome to Louisa Tarn and Libby Lawrence. Two very interesting girls. Louisa is a recent graduate from Cambridge, Jesus College, in the UK. Having achieved her degree in what is arguably the most demanding education you can get, she is channeling her efforts in getting her golf to the highest possible level. She was the Ladies Golf Team Captain at Cambridge. She is just one of those people, who is good at everything!

A similar story with Libby Lawrence. As you know from earlier posts, she has gained a Ladies European Tour Card at her first attempt. She also completed a degree from the prestigious Vanderbilt College here in the US. These girls are seriously cool.

Both girls are doing really well with their games. Keep an eye out for them in the future! You go girls!!

Jonathan awarded UK-PGA Master Professional Status.

Jonathan Yarwood has recently been awarded the status of ‘Master Professional’ by the UK PGA. This is a huge honour and Jonathan will receive his award at a cocktail reception at the 2011 British Open. “It is amazing to receive this award and truly is a great honour, I am very proud”. He will be featured in the UK PGA magazine and website which reaches all UK PGA affliated pros around the world. He is the youngest person to ever receive this accolade.

Libby Lawrence earns 2011 European Tour card!

Congratulations to Libby Lawrence on earning her recent European Ladies Tour Card. After much hard work at JYGA, Libby is starting to fulfill her potential. She has been working on a ‘personalised’ program with heavy emphasis on scoring and short game. She has a ‘blueprint’ for her swing, so she no longer experiments or gets too technical. That free’s her up to focus on course management and making scores. Well done Libby! We wish you a great rookie season.

Touring Professional Program Gets underway.

Eight budding touring professionals recently signed up for the month-long JYGA tour player program. This program covers technique in all areas of the game as well as course management, making scores, preparing for events, planning your practice schedule to peak for events, plus many other things.

The guys and girls are pictured learning how to stretch correctly before they start practicing with JYGA coach Chad Jones.

Sky TV’s ‘Search for a Star’ Winner arrives.

Sky’s ‘Search For A Star’ winner Nick Buckland has arrived to start his stint at JYGA at The Concession in Florida. Here he is pictured on the first tee with Pro, Kurt Mayr on the left and JYGA full time student, Sawyer Huth on the right. After playing the course for the first time, Nick was asked “how was it?”. His simple reply was, “Amazing”! We look forward to his progress here at JYGA at The Concession.
